The group leader at an outpatient hospital I was at told us to look ourselves in the eye in the mirror and repeat "I am good, I am a worthwhile person, I deserve to be happy" I thought it looked silly and was afraid of my parents walking in so I didn't try it. But hey, who knows?

one thing i did which helped me, was get a sheet of paper and divide it into 2 columns. one was things i was good at and liked about myself, no matter how silly it might be (i put making a cup of tea for example!) and the other is things i wanted to change or improve my skill on. i just listed everything i could think of and that people had told me and i found the "good" side was far longer than the bad. now i look at it to remind myself of how good i am.
