Do I have schizophrenia |

Hi everyone. I have been looking for some feedback and opinions. A few years ago I was tramatized, coherced into marriage and coherced into a Buddhist sect. I have since been trying to readapt to life in the United States with a real job and to readapt to my culture and people, and I feel that I am under a lot of stress. Whenever I look at people, I feel guilty, as if I am being punished for any idea that comes up in my head, and I occasionally have "cause effect" experiences, where I think that people are staring back at me. I don't hear voices, but my ear is very, very sensitive to what others are saying, and I overhear remarks about me all the time. I also feel like the world can tell what I'm thinking. Do you think that these are the symptoms for PTSD or schizophrenia?

the last thing you want is to get into the psychiatric system. you seem a bit paranoid. you need to have a bit less stimulus in your life for a while. avoid travel especially abroad, moving house, marrying, divorcing, changing job etc etc for a few months. try some natural medicines like cinnamon etc. avoid alcohol and illegal drugs. get regular sleep, build a network of reliable friends. try to live near people who like you and support you for what you really are/want. try to avoid confrontation and people who seem aggresive or "cagey" or derogatory/supercilious.

probably some people are talking about you, but its nowhere near as many as you think and those that are will never admit it. those that might be against you (if there are any) would love for you to get a psychiatric label as it makes it so easy to interfere with your life. whilst i said you need to lower your average stimulus in each day, you also need to build a wide solid network of good honest plain speaking forthright friends around you. it might probably help to live in a smaller town/village or where you already know people, and even eventually to get involved in local politics or journalism.
if your mental state gets to difficult for you it might be an idea to seek help, but whether by going out of state or online or to another country if there's any way of keeping it unofficial then do it you don't want to be known as mad it has loads of disadvantages. if you hear start to hear voices many people consider it to indicate schizophrenia but it is also known of in PTSD. i consider voices to be often initially the product of stress but they are also a connection to the spirit world. they might sound nasty sometimes but they can also give useful information, tempt you to do wrong or help you to meet people that can help you in acheiving goals. many clairvoyants actually hear more than one thing when a person speaks.... sort of like voices but on top of something else said. but everyone is individual. some don't mind voices, they are "invisible friends", "fairies", gods and goddesses, etc, but some people get very upset by them and need to take chemicals to get rid of them or dampen them down. with me it was psychsomatic and even touching a tablet to my teeth without actually eating any took the voices away instantly when i did hear them. so psychological techniques might work even with voices you don't want. there is lots of information on this website and on the links. mindfreedominternational seems to be a genuine organisation on your side of the atlantic. over here in the uk we have hearing voices network, paranoia network etc. |

Burgundy......Hi, let me open with this, no i don't think you have any schizotypal issues. My opinion is based on studies in the Psychotherapy and Psychanalyses area over the last six years.
This is just an opinion nonetheless. I believe you are suffering from a type of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) that is often the result of cult abuse. This is nothing i feel is a major worry, but i strongly recommend engaging the services of a licenced professional to maximize your results. Please refer to your healthcare provider for further information reguarding the sensitivity you are dealing with This has been documented to be a typical result of cult abuse. This is also the OPINION of a non licenced individual not affiliated with or stating the opinions or ideas of this site or it's owners. |

I experience similar things, one psychiatrist said "Get 7 psychiatrists get 7 different diagnoseses"
I guess it's what the definition of schitsoprenia the person doing the questioning uses, they say your more likely to get the diagnosis in the states. Theres the international classification of disease definition theres also the DSM which is been revised, theres also that guy Szatsz who denies mental illness exists Guess each brand of psychotherapy has it's particular definition based on the theories been used |
